"Dear Members of the CJA Panel for the Eastern District of Virginia,

I am happy to notify you that the Court has selected Lana Manitta, of Purcellville, Virginia, as the Courts next CJA Panel District Representative. Ms. Manitta, who is a 1998 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars, has spent her entire career as a criminal defense attorney and member of our CJA Panel working primarily in the Alexandria Division. Ms. Manitta has represented defendants charged with every level of offense, including many RICO-based multi-defendant capital prosecutions targeting gang activity in Northern Virginia. In addition to her federal criminal practice, Ms. Manitta handles criminal defense and family law matters in state court, as well as the occasional civil matter in our court. Because she considers her work as a CJA panel member to be the single greatest contributor to her development as an attorney, Ms. Manitta looks forward to helping new and experienced panel members make and receive the most out of this important and rewarding work. Ms. Manitta expects to regularly consult with our local CJA Committees, and hopes to be able to connect with more of her fellow panel members in each of the divisions in our district to assist them in reaching a better understanding of panel administration as well as the many resources available to members. The Court is grateful to Ms. Manitta for taking on this role, effective January 1, 2021.

Respectfully,

Chief Judge Davis"
